I wanted a case for my Heltec V3 that would be suited to carrying in a pocket or sitting on a desk while having a good battery life. This case is designed to be long in order to have the Heltec and 18650 end to end instead of stacked. I chose to do this to make it comfortable to carry in a pants/jacket pocket or in a backpack water bottle holder while allowing the antenna to stick out if needed. I used an antenna that can bend 90 degrees in case I want to set it flat on a desk or window sill.

The antenna I linked comes with the correct adapter for the build.
In this case the area behind the heltec V3 is where you can store your wiring rat's nest, just be sure that when you're putting the back on that the wires are inside the vertical supports on the rear panel. I have shown a red box on the photo to help illustrate. The vertical standoffs on the rear plate are what hold the heltec in place so you don't want wires getting pinched between them and the heltec.
