This eternal Spoolholder ist part of my EMMS (External MMU Mount System). Up to six spools can be mounted (each spool runs on 4 bearings). The spool rollers (riders) can adjusted freely along the two smooth steel rods up to 6 pairs.
The brackets and the Center Holder use existing holes of the Original Prusa Enclosure
Assembly:
1) Press the P R U S A letters in the corresponding gaps of the right and left bracket. The orange letters are inlays to the main brackets and should be pressed firmly into the brackets and don't need glue.
2) assemble the right and left bracket to the enclosure with screws. You have to remove the corresponding screws and may need some longer versions of the original screws. Try to use all holes, but if it is too difficult you may leave 1-2 screws out. The system uses some redundant assembly points.
3) Assemble the mid arm of the system to the enclosure. Here you may drill one new hole into the enclosure (you will see which). If you don't want to drill a hole into your enclosure you may leave this screw out.
4) Assemble the 12 riders with the 608 bearings and M3 screws and nuts. Each rider consist of a left and right part that snap together but should be secured with screws and a nut. Check that each bearing runs freely.
5) carefully insert the two 60cm rods into the holes of all three brackets. The rods are secured with an M3 grub screw with M3 head thread inserts and the endocarps (orange) use the same heat thread inserts and grub screws. If you don't have M3 grub screws you can use normal M3 hex screws, but you will see the screwheads. Grub screws look better but they are functional identical.
6) Now clip in the riders on the rods. The front of the riders is the oblique part that matches the contour of the PRUSA Enclosure. Six riders are on the left side of the Mlle mount and another six riders are meant to the other side. You can push the riders freely left or right so that they match the width of the used spool. Even 2kg spools can be used. If the riders don't glide easily you may sand down the holes a bit ore uses some oil or grease.
Insert the spools you need and you are ready to print.
For the EMMS use the magnetic filament guides to give the PTFE tubes the correct direction.
