The Volcanic Pistol

Having recently printed the excellent Cattleman Revolver model from agepbiz, I thought to myself:

You'll be shocked to hear that I too, have been enjoying Red Dead Redemption 2.

So I sat down, spun up Autodesk 360 and spent more hours than I'd care to admit and came up with this.

I always found the Volcanic Pistol to be a bit of a funky firearm. Now that I can hold it in my hand, funky firearm confirmed!

I opted for a cocked hammer as it would otherwise cover the iron sights.

Print info:

Unless specified, use no brim and no supports. Print orientations as profile

  • Barrel - Brim
  • Rear body - Brim + Tree support. I recommend even using strong support
  • Front body - Brim + Tree support
  • Grips - Brim + Tree support

Assembly:

You'll need glue!

Should be very straight forward, with one small note.

Attach the hammer last. If you don't you'll have no way of inserting the firing pin.

Speaking of the firing pin, this is the only part that doesn't have a fixed position so you'll have to glue it in place where suitable. Here's a reference image:

  • There are four identical pins, two of these hold the handle sides and the other two hold the rear and front bodies together (together with the hammerthat you'll attach last ;) ).
  • The two short “pipe” pins hold the barrel to the front body.
  • The longer pin with a fake screw head in each end, goes in the through hole of the handles.
  • The small leaf shaped item is a spring handle for the loading mechanism, it goes towards the bottom read of the barrel, curved part facing the wielder.
  • The rear sight should be a very tight fit, but you'll be able to slide it into the dove tail from the side.

Parts clarification

It was not super clear where some of the parts go, these pictures will hopefully solve that :)

That's it!
Hope you enjoy it.
