Reinforced Rear Fender Replacement for Xiaomi M365 Electric Scooter

Rear fender replacement for Xiaomi M365 scooter.

This part is both stronger and lighter (160g) than the original one, though I did manage to break it after a while, so consider using one of the aftermarket fender supports.

It will fit in a 200x200x200 area diagonally. Try to slice in a way that requires the least amount of layers. That way the surface area of each layer will be bigger, making the part stronger by reducing the impact of less than ideal interlayer adhesion. Try to keep as much of the overhangs as possible at a printable angle. I was able to print with a minimal amount of support structures, but I have a jet engine of a cooling fan on my printer, so your mileage may vary.

How I Designed This:

It is based on the original Xiaomi part, with the following changes made:

• Mounting screws go all the way through the part for a stronger mount

• Angle of the slope near the mount is increased and is made 100% solid to eliminate weak point of the original part where it always breaks

• Thickness is increased near the mount, and is gradually decreased towards the rear end to decrease the mass, and thus the force of vibrations acting upon it (see the cross section). This also makes the rear half of the part more flexible and hopefully impact resistant

• Hooks that hold the wire in place are modified slightly for easier installation of the brake light
