revision note 09-07-2024: “the master printer update” The current version can be fastened by a flange locking screw in the bottom of the pawn. The base stayed the same. Stay tuned for the pip version.
Hi all,
Thanks for downloading this mechanical pawn. The printer settings are still a work in progress I'll update them in the future. The settings below work well enough for now. If you have any printing setting suggestions, please let me know!
Printer settings PLA:
nozzle 195 deg C
bed 60 deg C
Support ON (tree)
Print the hollow push arm parts facing each other to avoid ugly surfaces from stringing.
This is my first upload, I'll be uploading revisions while learning new techniques; of course, any tip is welcome:).
Have fun!
*assembling guide*
1. Place all the wings on the female base plate.
2. With a lot of wiggling and slight rotations, get the timing pin in place with all the wings connected.
3. Rotate all the wings inward so the timing pin is in the model's center.
4. Carefully place the locking part pointy end of the base male in the hole of the timing pin.
The next part is tricky
5. First extend the timing pin to create space, next hold the outer shell of the timing pin, and gently with a slight wiggling motion, push the locking part over the flanges of the timing pin. when in place, turn counterclockwise with a flat-head screwdriver to fasten the mechanism.
6. Start playing and have fun!
