I was in need of a second Lily58 low profile keyboard so I order a new PCB kit but to my surprise this time it did not fit my old case. So I adjusted it to fit it flawless. with this new version the Keyboard is 0.4mm lower as the previous version!

This time I share the steps files and the keygrid dxf file too, maybe this helps someone to adjust it to his liking.

Changes:

  • added spacers to the bottom plate that the PCB is more stable
  • re done the keygrid that the Choc V1 switch now clip proper in
  • add spacers to the keygrid that it sandwiches the base PCB between the keygrid and the bottom.

PCB Hardware that I used Aurora Lily58 PCB Kit from splitkb.com with:

  • RGB Underglow,
  • RGB Backlight
  • Choc Hotswap sockets

Microcontroller:

Case hardware Aurora Lily58 Low Profile Case from splitkb.com:

  • Aurora Low Profile Case Hardware Kit here only 10 x  M2x6mm spacers
  • 20 x M2x4mm screws for top and bottom
  • 4 x M2x8mm screws with hex nuts for the MCU cover

As switches I used Kailh Low Profile Choc Switches V1 Red

As key caps I used costume MBK key caps from https://fkcaps.com/

As I didn't like the QMK only pre-compiled firmware from splitkb.com which made on the fly key-map changes hard I created a VILA keymap / firmware for it which you can find on my github https://github.com/Gabbajoe/vial-qmk/tree/splitkb_lily58 in the folder keyboards/splitkb/aurora/lily58/keymaps/vial or vial-liatris where I disabled the power led of the microcontroller.

In VIAL I enabled all features.

As I learned from my MX Key build the OLed screens did not offer any added value to me so I did not use them. As MCU Cover I remixed the Lily58 MCU Cover from @sungo I added a 5mm spacer that sit flush on the PCB so that I do not need to use the standoffs from the Hardware kit which makes the Covers more stable.

As you can see on the pictures I printed the bottom part with a clear filament and the boarders in black.
I used PLA filament this time
