Welcome to the Moon: ASTRA Card Collection Tray

In the course of solo play of the board game Welcome to the Moon, the ASTRA opponent collects Action cards from the player. The Action cards are then worth points for ASTRA at the end of the game. This tray provides a convenient way to accumulate those cards. The Action icons in the six slots of the tray are listed in the same order as on the Opponent cards. The tray is only 16 mm tall in order to fit inside the box without bumping the lid. Since the tray dividers are not very tall, there are grooves on the right sides of each Action slot in the tray. The first card collected of that Action type is placed in the slot's groove and will be wedged upright against the divider, thus supporting other cards added to the slot.

A filament swap was done to highlight the six Action icons relative to the tray base.

The tray was designed in Fusion 360 and exported as an .STL file to MeshMixer. The six Action icons were created by taking a picture of the corresponding cards, converting the images to black and white and editing them in Gimp, and then transforming them to .SVG files in Inkscape. The .SVG files were then imported into Fusion 360 for extrusion. The "Welcome to the Moon" logo on the underside was taken from a .JPG found on the web and then processed in a similar way.
