Stealthyswiss Mounting Bracket for Microswiss Linear Rail Direct Drive Extruder & BLTouch

This part is designed to facilitate the use of both the "StealthySwiss" (Voron Stealthburner remix) and BLTouch with the Micro Swiss Direct Drive Extruder for Linear Rail System. It requires four threaded inserts, the holes for which have been spec'd for Ruthex M3 x 5.7mm threaded bushings. (No affiliation. These links are simply for ease of reference.)

Printing:

This part should be printed with a suitably heat-tolerant material. Some general settings which I used include:

• Nozzle = 0.4mm
• Layer Height = 0.2mm
• Wall Loops = 3
• Sparse Infill = 100%
• Scarf Joint Seam = Contour and Hole
• Scarf Around Entire Wall = True
• Precise Wall = True
• Polyholes = Enabled

Remember to account for shrinkage if you want an accurate part! I had to scale the print to 100.6% in order to achieve accurate dimensions with my given printer and filament. 

Installing the threaded Inserts:

Orientation:

The bores for each threaded insert are tapered to ensure proper fit and strength, but this means the insert should only be inserted from the wider end of the hole. Orientation is as follows:

With the model oriented as if it were mounted to a printer (see renderings,) two inserts for the BLTouch mount should be inserted from below into the first and third of the three holes. The second (middle) hole remains a smooth bore.

The two threaded inserts on the front-facing mounting ears (which interface with the Stealthburner top shell) should be inserted from the front.

Additional Tips:

I use a temperature-regulated soldering iron with a conical tip to gently push each insert into place at 300°c (into PETG.) Any plastic squeeze-out can be trimmed flush with a razor blade.

This part is primarily copied from ivan5rov's “Stealthburner mount …” but being a scratch-built remix/remake, only some of the dimensions have been accurately copied.

The original M3 screw holes have been adapted to accept Ruthex M3 threaded inserts where applicable. Per spec, the holes are 4mm in diameter at their face, with a 1.5° inward taper.

The spacing and alignment of the bracket-to-StealthySwiss mounting holes have been adjusted for better accuracy, and corresponding geometry has also been altered to match.

Fillets, chamfers, and scallops have been added/altered throughout the model. The countersunk M3 bracket-to-bracket holes have been slightly counterbored to ensure flushness.
