Dual 1219 Stylus Installation Gauge

I derived the dimensions for this replacement gauge from a Audio Technica AT-14Sa stylus installed using the original Dual gauge 50+ years ago, the Dual 1219 Owner's Manual, and hours of online research. My original gauge was lost many years ago.

After hours of work restoring the Dual TT, I was subjected to a left channel hum and dull sound reproduction. I traced the problem to the wires that connect the cartridge to the sled. High resistance, probably due to 50 years of corrosion in storage. I purchased a new mounting sled and unsuccessfully searched for the gauge.

Using this gauge my Dual 1219 is now fully operational and sounds like it did 50+ years ago.

I also scanned the pertinent instructions from the User's Manual.

Warning: If the printer is not tuned-in to print dimensions accurately this gauge will not be correct. I included the designed dimensions below and also in a PDF of my design drawing.

Print measure and scale the appropriate X, Y, Z dimensions to correct.

Print the model as in the stl.

There is a small built-in support that is easily removed after printing.

Note: The gauge measurements are:

• Overhang 8.3mm

• Top of sled to Stylus 23mm with .5mm gauge clearance above stylus
