What is this?

This is a 1U rackmount for HP Tiny USFF computers (ProDesk and EliteDesk). These parts are fully compatible with the Lenovo version so you can mix and match.

Variants

There are 2 variants to the modules that actually hold the Micro PCs: One with a label placement area and one without. The label variant is able to hold up to 1/2" labels while still looking neat. It is positioned in a way where is does not impact air flow or usage of the front IO.

There is a blank that is included as well for the left side. This is the same as the one from the remix which only has a blank for the left side. If anyone needs one for the right side, let me know and I will make it since you won't be able to just flip the left side. The left blank includes a variant for the steel ear and built in ear. I would recommend the steel ear variant.
IF YOU ARE PRINTING THE BLANK: Print the bracket for the right side!

Additionally, you should be able to use a 40x40 fan instead of the center cap if you desire.

Problems

One problem I have noticed with this print is that the middle sags in. To counter this, I am using an extra switch to rest the rackmount on. An upside down 1U cantilever shelf would work as well. As long as the bottom mount has a sturdy base, any above it should be fine as well.

Print Orientation

Right/Left Bracket: Print face down with no support if you have a printer with at least 213mm of vertical print height. If you don't have that much vertical height, print with the underside on the build plate with supports. You will need to set “First Layer Expansion” to 0 in the support settings.
Right/Left Extension: Print underside on build plate with supports (you might be able to just use supports on the build plate, but some of the side hexagons might get messed up)
Center: Print face down (vertical) with supports.

If mounting a 2.5" drive:

HDD: 4x M3 8mm per side (flat head) [Silver: 6864]

Process
  1. Use a M4 screw and pre-thread the center cap if using.
  2. Use a M4 screw and pre-thread the center rear holes. Should only need to thread about 5 mm.
  3. Using 4x M4 20mm screws, screw the center and center cap (or fan) together.
  4. Attach each bracket or blank to the center:
    • If both sides are brackets:
      1. Place 2x M4 nut in to the designated slot.
      2. Slide the bracket or blank in to place.
      3. Use 2x M4 30mm socket head bolts to attach the bracket or blank to the middle.
      4. Repeat sub-steps 1-3 for the other bracket. Continue to step 5.
    • If using a bracket and a blank:
      1. Place 2x M4 nut in to the designated slots on the RIGHT side.
      2. Slide the bracket in to place on the RIGHT side.
      3. Use 2x M4 30mm socket head bolts to attach the bracket to the middle.
      4. Place 2x M4 nut in to the designated slots on the LEFT side.
      5. Slide the blank in to place on the LEFT side.
      6. Use 2x M4 30mm socket head bolts to attach the blank to the middle.
      7. Use 1x M4 10mm bolt and 1x M4 nut to attach the blank extension to the blank. Do not attach the blank to the middle yet.
  5. Attach extension piece to each bracket:
    • Use 3x M4 10mm bolts and 3x M4 nuts to attach the extension to the bracket.
    • Use 1x M3 8mm bolt and 1x M3 nut to attach the extension side away from the center to the bracket.
    • Repeat sub-steps to the other side if not using a blank and then go to next sub-step.
  6. Use 1x M4 50mm bolt and 1x M4 nut to attach the brackets to the center.
  7. If using the steel ears:
    • Use 4x M4 nuts and insert it in to the dedicated slots.
    • Align bracket with the holes.
    • Use 4x M4 10mm bolts to attach the ear to the bracket.
    • Repeat for other side. If using a blank, you will be using 2x M4 10mm and 2x M4 nuts.
