This is a miniature model of Kevin's Talkboy from 'Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.' The buttons on top have a small hole, so you can hang it from your holiday tree.
The model can be snapped together, but I highly recommend using glue for a permanent fit. The hanging hole is very tiny, so you'll need some fishing line/string and some kind of needle. I used a thin wire to pull the line through the top.
The final print is very small, so make sure your printer is dialed-in before printing (e-steps, flow rate, belts are tightened, etc.). The entire print uses about 15g of plastic and takes 1:45 on my machine.
- Nozzle Size: 0.4mm
- Layer Height: 0.2mm
- Vertical Shells: 2
- Top/Bottom Layers: 4
- Infill: 15%
- Supports: Nope
For a "screen accurate" color version, the body and handle should be printed in silver, the record button in red, and everything else in dark gray (or black). You can also use pink and purple instead of the silver and black for the Talkgirl variant!
There are two options for the top buttons: a solid version and one with a hole. The hole version has a hole running through the entire part, where you can install the hanging string.
See the photos for the proper print orientation. Because many of the parts are very small, you may need to use brims, especially on the microphone. If the parts are not fitting together at all, lower your extrusion rate to 90-95%.
1. Insert the microphone into the handle (the "bump" on the microphone should be on the "bottom"), then insert the handle into the body.
2. If you're going to hang this, install the string/line into the top buttons before adding to the body.
3. Install the rest of the parts into the body. Use the photos above as reference.
