Magnetic connectors for VR game controllers

Update 04/05/2025

- Added the possibility to place magnets smaller than 8mm. These magnets must still be 32mm in diameter.

- Added printed washers to wedge the magnet to increase or decrease its attraction force .Add as many as you see necessary.

- Se añadio la posibilidad de colocar imanes menores de 8mm. Estos tienen que seguir siendo de 32mm de diametro.

- Se añadieron arandelas impresas para calzar el iman y así aumentar o disminuir su fuerza de atracción. Añade la que veas necesaria.

Magnetic connectors to use as spare parts for Mamut vr peripherals or to create your own.

- Attached is the bottom part of the connection to the controller housing so you can adapt it to your favorite vr controller.

- With them you can use the original Mamut Vr magnets or use a 32mm outside diameter by 7mm wide like these:

To attach the magnets to the connectors you need the following:

- M5x30 countersunk head screw and a nut of the same size.

- Glue to attach the magnet and the lower connector shaft.

Mounting:

- Mount the magnet on the upper connector with the countersunk hole facing out and put the M5x30mm screw on it. Put the M5 nut in the connector of the control housing and tighten it until it is well fixed.

- There are two ways to mount the bottom of the magnetic connector.

One requires countersinking one side of the magnet so that the M5x30mm screw is flush and attaching it with the shaft and nut.

The other option requires only quality glue.

Take the lower magnetic connector and glue the other magnet and the shaft. Before gluing make sure you are gluing on the right side. Let the glue dry before testing the magnetic joint.

Conectores magnéticos para usar como repuesto para periféricos Mamut vr o para crearte el tuyo propio.
 

- Adjunto la parte inferior de la conexión a la carcasa del controlador para que tu mismo la adaptes a tu controlador vr favorito.

- Con ellos puedes usar los imanes originales de Mamut Vr o usar unos de 32mm de diámetro exterior por 7mm de ancho como estos:

Para la sujeción de los imanes a los conectores es necesario lo siguiente:

- Tornillo M5x30 de cabeza avellanada y una tuerca de la misma métrica.

- Pegamento para pegar el imán y el eje del conector inferior.

Montaje:

- Monta el imán en el conector superior con el agujero avellanado hacia fuera y ponle el tornillo M5x30mm. Mete la tuerca M5 en el conector de la carcasa para mandos y aprieta hasta que quede bien fijado.

- Hay dos maneras de montar la parte inferior del conector magnético.

Una requiere avellanar uno de los lados del imán para que el tornillo M5x30mm quede enrasado y fijarlo con el eje y la tuerca.

La otra opción solo requiere pegamento de calidad.

Coge el conector magnético inferior y pega el otro imán y el eje. Antes de pegarlo asegúrate de que lo estas pegando por la cara adecuada. Deja secar el pegamento antes de probar la unión magnética.
