Waste Container Secure Snapper
Description
PDFUpcoming winds always opened the lid of the waste container. Made a snapper that provides safety against opening by wind.
Problems to overcome were glue-system which is strong enough and doesn't hurt the surface paint. Furthermore, snapping mechanism and secure hold, when closed, and eventually nice hapture to release the snapper with little force. You should not break your fingernails when opening.
Designed in TinkerCad. Presented version of three parts looks totally simple, the more it was complicated, believe me.
Printed on my MK4 with ASA.
Screws M3 for axle, and for pre-adjusting the angle of the snapper. Important to self-close when descenting, important to hold strongly when in place. After several trials the "Latch.stl" made it in the end!
I used two types of 3M double sided tape, soft (transparent) and thin for contact to larger surfaces.
