UK light switch cover for Hue dimmer v2

I have installed a Hue smart lighting system throughout my home however I have not wanted to completely remove the existing light switches and I still want to maintain occasional access to the switches in order to reset bulbs.The main switches do need to be covered and hidden however to stop guests from mistakenly turning off the power to the bulb and breaking my automations.

This cover is for the Hue Dimmer V2 and uses the face plate of the magnetic holder that comes included with the remote. It surrounds a standard 1-Switch UK lightswitch and uses the existing switch mounting holes, meaning no adhesive tape or holes on your walls!

🪛How to Install

1. Turn off the power to the room lights (You can flip the relevant breaker on your breaker board)
2. unscrew the two screws holding the switch to the wall, no need to fully remove the switch.
3. place the printed switch adaptor over the switch and place the screws through the holes in the print and the switch cover then into the screw tabs in the switch backbox.
4. screw the switch and cover in fully. No need to over tighten.
5. Take the Hue adhesive holder that comes with the Hue Dimmer v2 and clip the face plate portion over the cover.

🚫How to remove

1. Turn off the power to the room lights (You can flip the relevant breaker on your breaker board)
2. Place a flat screwdriver in the slot at the bottom of the Hue faceplate and pry up slightly the faceplate should pop off.
3. Unscrew the cover and switch.
4. remove the cover and screw the original light switch back in to the wall box.

💡About the model

• The model can be printed in a flat orientation however support removal from the inside can be a pain. Printing at a 45degree angle with supports for the overhangs provides a very good print.
• Requires supports (In testing my P1S could do the topmost overhang eventually but filament was very spongy in that area. not a total print fail but not the best print.)
• Sized to accept the packaged Hue faceplate, I don't recommend scaling the model.
