Thank you to mhparsons for having a simple yet comprehensive design to work with. Modifications for this remix include:
Roll pin diameter: 34mm (~1.34 in) - sized to fit common rolls in Japan
Roll pin length extended to an overall height of 195mm
Roll overall clearance (measured from pin to outside roll diameter max): 53mm (2.09 in)
Magnetic back: uses 13mm diameter X 4mm depth - sized to fit (2) each common magnets from local ¥100 stores (similar to “$1” stores). Overall 16 holes in the back for a total of 32 magnets to install (pressure fit).
Since we often use both Japan and American sized paper towel rolls, and US rolls tend to be marketed as “double” size, I added a lot of magnets to the back to account for the weight of the roll and pulling force when taking a sheet while on the holder.
Printed in PETG and also separately in PCTG (if you are concerned about the z-axis layer bonding). PLA or ABS would also work :-)
