This is a core adapter for the new Fiberlogy spools. It's designed for the Fiberlogy 850g refills but can be adapted for other refills.
Printing recommendations:
If you are using a drybox or plan to use these spools in the Bambu Lab AMS, don't print them out of PLA. Use a material with a higher continuous use temperature such as ASA.
Layer height: 0.2mm
Wall thickness: 1.2mm
Infill: 15%
Support: None
Printed with these parameters, both parts combined will use 50g of filament. Note: The parts are designed with thin walls. They will only gain their full strength as soon as they are pressed and glued in the refill spool plates. Normal cyanoacrylate superglue should work well. However, check the specific material compatibility of the glue with the PC of the spool plates and your 3D printed material.
Both parts have notches on the top, align these with the oblong hole in the spool plates. This makes it easy to visually align the interrupted poka-yoke thread. It only fits one way.
The parts can be printed inside each other. In this way up to 5 sets fit ou a Bambu Lab X1 / P1 plate.
When mounting the refill filament, put the inner end trough one of the small holes next to the core, do not cut off the protruding end yet. Close the spool, cut the cable ties and pull them out. Next use the outer filament end and tension the whole spool to the core. You can see the stationary coils stacking through the window. This ensures that the filament won’t rotate on the core. When the winding is tight, cut off the access filament on the inner hole.
