Notes:

  • I can not recommend PLA for this. It started deforming during torture testing with a drill.
  • Every surface that moves and touches another surface should be greased.
  • The differential cover should go towards the back of the car.
  • The axle shafts differ slightly. The rear one is marked on the end to tell them apart.
  • There should be no play between the axle shafts and the diff housing.
  • The differential should run smooth without stuttering after turning it a few times by hand.
  • This also removes the need to print the gears with supports.
  • The attached images explain the assembly.

BOM:

  • 1x M3 18mm pin, threaded rod or bolt cut to length
  • 2x M3 16mm countersunk screw
  • 2x M3 8mm countersunk screw (20mm for optional axle shaft)

Print Settings:

  • Filament: PETG
  • Layer Height: 0.2mm
  • Infill: 100%
  • Supports: no

"Happy printing, and God bless, my friend."

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

This is a combination of barspins OpenRC differential and the driven gear of the Explorer-Mk1 RC Chassis.
