I didn't want to wait on an order of alligator clips and whatever else so I brewed up a quick system from existing components. Most other ball and socket articulating arms had open areas in the socket and broke along layer lines, these ended up working well for me.
I modified an existing alligator clamp to print open, and operate closed, so it will clamp entirely closed without an extra spring or modification.
All items are in final print orientation, only the alligator clamp requires supports, on build plate only. I printed these with filaments.ca recycled pla, with 2 perimeters and truly forgettable infill percentage, likely 20%. Assemble the parts soon after printing, I found it easier to fit the parts while they were still a bit warm from the print bed, especially the alligator clip.
I'll likely add more tools for these and if you have a request leave a comment
