PVC Chicken Feeder - Lid With Level Indication

This is a lid/cap designed to fit directly on 4" sewer and drain PVC (I used this one). Note that this is not schedule 40 PVC. It replaces a standard PVC cap with the added feature of level indication via a string that is fished through the lid (surprisingly much easier than I thought.) When the outside weight is at the top, you know you need to refill!

The idea is based on this one (no affiliation) but is incorporated into one nice package. I used default slicer settings for PETG (2 walls, 15% infill, etc.) on the Bambu X1C and mine has proven watertight so far. You could always add more top and bottom layers and walls if you're concerned. If I make any more, I'm planning on making them out of ASA. It slides on nicely for me, but if you have issues, you can always scale it up 1% or 2% 

I melted the end of the nylon string to keep it from fraying, and it pushed right through the integrated tube!

Main features:

• Keeps food dry and critters out.
• Channel for string to pass through the lid for external level indication, so you can see if your feeder needs refilling from afar!

Additional Hardware required:

• 4" PVC chicken feeder
• about 5 feet of nylon string based on the height of your feeder(like this https://www.lowes.com/pd/Marshalltown-1000-ft-White-Nylon-Mason-Line-String/1000101945)
• Small weight for outside (I used a ½" nut)
• Larger weight for inside (must be heavier than weight outside. You may have to play with this to get one heavy enough to overcome the friction in the lid. I used a short ½" bolt with 2 nuts threaded on.
