Luna (from Destination Moon) model rocket

Destination Moon's Luna Rocket

UNTESTED - this model, once properly balanced should fly quite well on an 18mm D.could even work on a C6-3.but I've not had the chance to test fly it yet.

Requires

• Estes BT-50 body tube (236mm length)
• Estes BT-20 body tube (78mm length)
• Parachute
• Shock cord
• 2 Screw eyes

• Paperclip or thin piano wire for motor retention Notes

• Because of the fin spread a special launch stand is offered. I suspect it won't suffer too much damage from a launch but keep an eye on this. I printed mine with Polycarbinate filament. It may need a heat deflector.

• I would use shotgun shot to add weight to the nose cone to bring the cg more forward of the fins
• When attaching PLA to PLA I use CA glue with a catalyst spray kicker
• there are small holes in the nozzle to allow for the paperclip or piano wire to retain the motor. The heat from the motor shouldn't cause the plastic holding the clip to fail, however this design is untested so be aware of that potential.
• When gluing the PLA parts to the body tubes, I've had no issue using white glue.
• A small clump of steel wool in the baffle chamber should eliminate the need for recovery wadding. (in theory)
• I may add the control surfaces to the wings and stabilizer but for now I didn't want to weaken them with those additions.
• The only part that needs to be printed with supports is the landing strut. And I print it with a higher resolution as well because of the curve.
• Added an adapter for the X-20 model found here to make SPACE FORCE TWO!! the second in the Space Force fleet.
