Intro

I love designing tiny and useful accessories for my everyday use. This is another one I'll add to my collection. Initially inspired by a pencil holder you can find on Laura Kampf's cap I worked on this concept a couple of years ago and now with this wonderful challenge for quick and useful prints I developed it thoroughly.

Design

As for all my projects, this 3d printed design has to be easy to print, assemble and use. I made 3 different options for this pen holder.

  •  2 slots
  •  3 slots
  •  3 slots but with a different middle one ( it's easier to use and non as hard as the standard one on blocking the pen )

I also made a few clip variations so you can choose the best one for you. I'm using the last one that you will find together with the pen holder itself.

Print Settings

If you use Prusa's 0.35 LH printing settings you can print

  • 2 slots pen holder in only 32 minutes
  • 3 slots pen holder in 48 minutes
  • 3 v.2 slots pen holder in 40 minutes

No need for support and brim on this print!

Assembly

All the assembly is pretty straightforward. Just insert the clip all the way inside the clip hole until it fits firmly and start using it.

Use the image I uploaded which illustrates step by step how to put everything together.

How does it's work and how it fits?

I'll leave you a couple of videos I made to explain how to assemble my pen holder and how to fit your pen's inside it. Also, you can see my preferred way to use this pen holder. I simply put it inside my shirt's front pocket and it stays there no problem.
