I designed this router base for my ryobi trim router to give me better control for fine work. I have 2 base plate versions, one is normal, the other is designed to be used with these template bushings from harbor freight:

However, it may work with other template bushings. The template bushing style plate requires supports under the center hole. Neither plate requires supports under the screw holes though.
Additional hardware needed for assembly:
To assemble the base plate insert the nuts on the topside of the handles, then install the handles into the corresponding sockets of the base plate, from the underside install the screws to capture the handles in place. In my experience it helped to have a second screwdriver to hold the nuts at the bottom of their pockets while getting the screws started. From there just remove the original base plate and replace with the new baseplate assembly.

6/3/24 Update:
Added a third baseplate with a large opening for improved visibility for free handing intricate designs.
