Glad I finished it just in time for the contest deadline!
These are meant for when you go out to eat lunch/dinner with a buddy frequently and you can't remember who covered the tab last time. I designed these coins to serve as a simple reminder. Simply keep one coin between you and your buddy. After paying for the meal simply hand the coin over. Whoever finds it in their wallet next time pays. :) I'm sure there are apps and whatnot for this but isn't analog a way simpler and more satisfying solution?
You can print the coin in a single color but obviously it looks better with a contrasty color change. Simply add a filament change at 3.20mm height and if you want 3 layers (like the ones shown in the photos) also at 1.20mm. I attached a screenshot showing how you can easily add a filament change on the right side while in the sliced preview of PrusaSlicer.
One coin takes around 15-20 minutes to print. Printed with a 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer height, 2 outer perimeters and 4-5 top/bottom layers.
They work really well in b&w and I designed them in a way that two of them (rice bowl & ice cream) work better in a dark on bright contrast while the other two (burger and pizza) make more sense as bright on dark variant… they should still be recognizeable if you decide to mix it up though. These were printed featuring several Prusament PLAs such as MysticGreen, Mystic Brown, GalaxyBlack, Vanilla White …
