Description

PDF

The microcontroller is used to store actual microcontrollers and make it look cool. It is mountable to the IKEA Skådis Board, together with other electrical components. (It will take me some time to upload all the other ones). There is a magnetic option (worth it if you've got the time / magnets) and a hinge option. Don't worry about parts mixing, once closed parts can not go to a different compartment.

VARIANTS

Magnetic: I've used 10mm x 3mm round magnets (for example: https://www.galaxus.ch/de/s12/product/maul-magnet-10-stueck-magnet-6562276) . These are inserted into the print while printing.

Hinge: The hinge variant closes using a click mechanism. You will need two M3 screws and bolts. It was designed with a M3x20 cylinder head screw in mind.

PREPARATION

For the body there's different variations: (see “Variations.pdf”)

  • A: Mix
  • B: 2 Sections
  • C: 4 Sections
  • D: 8 Sections

Download the one you want, everything else stays the same.

PRINTING

For colors, I'd suggest using black for the body and grey / metallic for the legs.

Printed this on my Bambu Lab A1 with layer height 0.2mm. (The layer height matters, as the Magnets are 3mm tall. If you change the layer height, make sure you know what you're doing or that the layer height is divisible by 3mm). The whole model prints without supports.

Magnetic: Make sure you're printer nozzle is non-magnetic (e.g. brass, aluminum) or you'll have to glue the magnets in place when inserting them. Simply pause the print at the right height (49.20mm or layer 246 when using 0.2mm layer height) for the body and (3.60mm or layer 18 when using 0.2mm layer height) for the lid. When inserting the magnets make sure to orient them the right way. (Have a look at this, if you have no idea what I'm talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOpB-ioDE9g)

Hinge: Simply print all the parts. Make sure to orient them the right way up.

For the legs print the parts A and C 2x and B 4x. Lay them on their big side facing up.

ASSEMBLY

Magnetic: No assembly required.

Hinge: Insert the M3 screws and screw on the nuts.

Glue the legs into place and you're all set!

Please don't hesitate to provide feedback or improvements!

Thanks for printing my model!
