Having some left over "iRobot Roomba 800" filters from a previous project I sacrificed the tidy look of the original Bento Box to save myself a few dollars and wasting what I already had. Might have looked a bit neater if I printed it in black :P
The original HEPA section has been sliced in two with the filter (which has almost the same external dimensions as the bento box) sandwiched in between.
There's not a lot of space between the end of the bento box and the rear wall of the printer so I use a strip of PETG to act as a sort of hinge to allow filters to be changed easily. I used a heat press insert for the bolt, but you could just as easily use a longer bolt with a nut and washer underneath.
To assemble, place the filter between the two pieces and tighten the bolt so the foam gasket on the filter is slightly compressed. Use a clamp on the opposite end to apply the same amount of compression then super glue the flexible hinge piece in place and allow to dry.
The download files are an improved version over the photographed pieces. The lugs for the tightening screw have been redesigned to suit a shorter bolt. And alignment pins for the hinge piece have been added.
Edit: 05/05/2025 Reuploaded the lower section model files to fix the detached alignment pins.
The author remixed this model.
