I have a lot of LED lights that I bought, not realising how harsh the lights were - I always want to put them up at Christmas but they're so bright, it can be quite distracting and somewhat ruins that cosy Christmas vibe so they end up sat in the box for another year!
I'm very much a make-it-work kind of person so rather than replacing them, I made these caps that diffuse the light and make them look a little more like traditional fairy light bulbs too.
They friction fit perfectly on the two sets of lights I tried them on but they'll scale up or down just fine if need be.
I printed mine in clear PETG as they were going on coloured lights but they could also be a great way to convert white bulbs to coloured lights if you printed in coloured filament instead. I recommend PETG as it has just enough flex to allow for the friction fit to be nice and tight.
These are intended to be printed in vase mode so the model is solid - you need to enable vase (spiralise) mode and set bottom layers to 0
Each one prints in under 5 minutes and is a great candidate for making use of sequential printing!!
