After upgrading my MK3S+ to add the MMU3 I found I did not have enough counter space for all 5 filament spools, so I decided to wall mount them. My first attempt was a single rod (with all 5 spools on the one rod) with a support bracket on each end of the rod. I found that the single rod made it difficult to change spools, so I decided that each spool needed its own individual rod. This design has worked out much better and changing spools is now pretty easy.
I printed using PLA at 0.20 layer height and 25% infill. To screw the brackets onto the wood base I used #10 x ¾ wood screws. I used the same screw for the PTFE tube holders.
The model file contains 1 left bracket, 1 right bracket and 1 middle bracket. If you want to mount all 5 filament spools on the wall you will need to print 4 middle brackets.
I spaced the brackets 5 5/8 inches apart (center to center) and used ¾ inch diameter wood dowels cut to 4 1/8 inches length.
The author remixed this model.
I made three different brackets from the original design. "Left” and “right” side brackets which are thinner and have end caps and “middle” brackets which are thicker and have a divider.
