To be able to use my 3D printer as a plotter cutter also, I created a simple mount for a basic cheap Chinese plotter blade. These can be bought for a few bucks and come with lots of replacement blades with different edge angles.

I bought the kind below from Aliexpress:

Note that the mount is for the inner part only! After you unscrew the outer case, the inner part will screw into the printed holder. Although I left the locking nut in place I found the holder sits pretty tight on its own, so there is not really use for that.

Make sure to adjust your print settings so that the part will screw in without too much force, but is still tight enough not to wiggle. I recomment printing just part of the tube to test screw tension first. First use might require higher torque to screw in as the threads need to be cut in the plastic first. Use some lubricant to provide lower adjust force.

I printed the part from ASA considering the higher temperatures that might be present around the effector. I used M3 hot inserts for the holder mount, further assembly should be pretty self-explanatory. After fixing the print to the effector, you can leave it there for normal printing operation also.

To use the printer as a plotter, I recommend thorough and meticulous bed leveling, as you definitely do not want the blade to cut or crash into the bed. After leveling, adjust Z=0 height so the nozzle will be a safe distance from the bed, and then adjust the holder height with the blade inserted according to the material you want to cut and how deep you want to cut. After use just remove the blade using the top push pin, and you can go back to printing filament.

Just to make sure, check that the holder itself is not lower than the nozzle! If it is, I recommend adjusting the holder height so the blade itself is lower than the nozzle when inserted, but with the blade removed the holder will not be in the way for printing.

To create gcode from svg files I used GRBL plotter. It's a bit of a hassle to get working first and adjust the settings properly, but it can also account for knife drag, resulting in very accurate cuts even on the finest details. Note that I used the generated gcode on the stock Marlin firmware, Klipper milage may vary.
