The quad lock vent mount, while a wonderfull product does, not fit the audi tt vents too wel.
sometimes the weight on the small hinges would dislodge the hinge and sometimes damage it beyond repair.
As a solution one can canabilize the vent insert and repurpose it for better phone mounting.
An orginal audi tt vent is required from which the outer ring and directional elements are to be removed. The print can than be fitted into the original audi vent insert.
The inner geomatry allows the vent mount to mount perfectly, and a small indent allows for an flush fit. alternativly there is a print without the indent.
While reversing the process to orignal should be possible, take care to not break the small hinges of the original flaps.
The tesprint was made on a ultimaker 3s with tough PLA.
Take into account the temprature limits of print material, best to keep the vent closed.
Model was updated to be slightly wider and slightly taperd to improve fitting over time. over longer periods the fit in the vent becomes more lose, presumably due to shrinkage
