This is the second iteration of the mini layering siphon for making layered shots. It utilizes a self-starting siphon, that starts when the correct amount of fluid is poured into the fluid reservoir. Once the siphon starts the fluid is siphoned to the bottom of the shot glass. If compatible fluids of different densities are poured in the correct order, they should form perfect layers.
This design improves considerably on the Mk I.
For a perfect two layer shot:
Orientation:
On its side with vent pipe towards the build plate and hanging hook at the top.
Filaments:
Fiberlogy PCTG Pure & Navy Blue (lettering)
MatterHackers PLA Grey (support interfaces)
Supports:
Organic PCTG with PLA interfaces, on built plate only.
Infill:
Should not matter, but Gyroid (15% density) with clear PCTG looks nice.
The layering siphon can also make 3-layered shots by adding the 3-layer adapter.
For a perfect three layer shot:
Orientation:
Inverted with “3-Layer Adapter” lettering against the build plate.
Filaments:
Fiberlogy PCTG Pure & Navy Blue (lettering)
Supports:
None
Infill:
Should not matter, but Gyroid (15% density) with clear PCTG looks nice.
