An insert for the boardgame Wyrmspan by Stone Meier Games. During the process of designing the insert I tried to keep ease of use in mind as much as possible, making it easy to setup the game aswell as pack it back up again. To help with this I came up with a few features.
Firstly, all the resources used have a designated spot in the insert, with a shape that match each resource. In these designated spots I have also made, and left enough room for, trays that match the shape of the resource itself that you can easily take out of the insert and use during your game. This to avoid having a pile on the table of each resource that might accidentally be scattered out or take up too much space if you have a smaller table.
Secondly, every other part also has it own designated place in the insert, where I tried to, as much as possible, position things in an order that makes it so everything you remove from the game box is removed in such an order that the few things you have to put back will not hinder the clean up later on when you have finished playing. The large block on one photo shows the position of the cardboard player mats.
Additionally, this insert assumes you have sleeved your cards, both dragon cards and cave cards, as well as have access to the Wyrmspan Upgrade Pack, making sure there is enough room for the extra space these things would take up. This does, of course, also make it more than useable if you do not have sleeved cards or the upgrade pack.
The STL-files have been made in such a way that they do not need any supports to print. There is however some assembly, and superglue, needed. Hopefully the picture of the entire insert is sufficient to help with the assembly. It should only be able to be assembled in one way, as the connection points between different things have been custom made to fit each part in the exact way it needs to go. Once I get around to having my own insert printed I will make a pdf detailing the assembly.
