I really liked the original mount. Since my phone with or without the case will not fit in the DJI Pro controller I needed something simple that would keep the phone elevated slightly and wouldn't block my view of the controller. And since I also use a Samsung Tab A Active tablet with my drone I needed a simple way of mounting my tablet.
By adding a set of “ears” to the original phone mount and modifying a tablet dash mount so that it would slide onto the ears I had a simple solution that uses one common base but accepts both my phone using the Otterbox Defender belt clip and an 8" tablet. All without any tools or messing around.
On the tablet mount the top clip has been shifted to the right so it won't interfere with the tablets buttons.
Based on how other users attach phones to their remote controller gives me the impression that other drone pilots must engage in some pretty energetic gymnastics while flying. Since I don't, I skipped the complexity and went with a simple slip on mount for the tablet.
I printed the base with ABS like resin. But I printed the tablet holder with a 50:50 mix of ABS and Tough Flexible resin.
The tablet holder in the pictures differs slightly from the final in the STL file (slight dimension changes and added a couple annoyances cleaned up).
The author remixed this model.
Added a set of “ears” to the top of the mount so that it can be used both with the Otterbox Defender belt clip and a slip on tablet mount.
