Hi there !
Ok I know, you're not meant to have your phone in the shower xD But I go to Youtube University every chance I get. I used to use a car windshield holder, but it broke, and I had some modifications I wanted to add to it.
So here's my phone holder for the shower, with an amplifier horn. It has an omni directional mount clip, so you can twist your phone to different orientations. I added a thread and nut to it, so you can tighten this so it doesn't droop. Inspired by the original gramaphones, it really does amplify the sound!
The hole position of the Holster v3 matches a speaker that is on the bottom right of the phone. This is a perfect fit for my Pixel 6, and my partner's Iphone 14. For longer phones like the iPhone 8 XL, print PhoneHolderHornV3-HolsterLarge. In the Alternate hole position folder you will find models with the horn entrance hole that corresponds to the bottom centre (mid) and bottom right (rev) of the phone.
HOLSTER
Version 1 - redundant
Version 2 - redundant
Version 3
- Whole new design with much better amplifier horn
- More compact footprint
MOUNTS
New modular system for the mounts, with a straight arm and an angled one. Choose which mount you want to use and connect it to the arm. Then screw on the nut so you can increase the pressure on the omni connection (ball mount).
There are a few versions different versions of the mount with a vice mechanism to connect it to various angle and width surfaces. Use the boltEnd on the bolt, so the vice has enough surface area to clamp evenly.
Mount 1
- For square shower edge finish that has 22mm across, 24mm high.
Mount 2
- For a glass pane, with a vice screw
Mount 3
- To mount to horizontal surface (like a table), with a vice screw
I printed this in Polymaker Polyterra dual colour PLA, at 0.28mm layer height, with 15% infill. I printed the holster with a brim and supports for the centre of the horn, the round edges on the bottom, and the ball on the back, but blocked out the support for the rest of the model. Every other part prints with no brim or supports.
Any modifications you want let me know
Happy printing !
