I was looking for an easy way to de-grease and clean our bicycle disc brakes with rubbing alcohol and/or disc cleaner. I tried to use a Dremmel with a 25mm wool felt polishing pad which was rather cumbersome. The wool felt pads do work though!

Attached is a simply design that uses two 25mm pads that lock using a M4 nut 30mm bolt and nut. Simply insert the wool felt pads, bolt together and wet the pads with rubbing alcohol. The pads stick out by about 1mm each. Place the contraption on the disc brakes and MANUALLY move the device to clean the discs. Adjust the bolt as needed. Rotate the wheel to cover the whole disc.

Eject the pads using the holes provided. The pads can be reversed for another cleaning job.

Prototype was printed in left over PLA. It works ;) Next planning to print it in Prusament PC Blend.

Premise: disc brakes are 2.5mm thick and pads are 25x9mm

To improve: locking mechanism
