Here's a Display Case I made for Luke's Lightsaber, that I made during my apprenticeship as an Industrial mechanic.

The “Arm” is a modified version of 3dprintingworlds Lightsaber stand.
The “Claw” was also modified by me to give it a more Imperial-esque look, that I got from gandy.kasper Lightsaber stand.
Quick Overview:
- Lightsaber Display case for a replica of Luke's Lightsaber.
- Acrylic mirror in the back to allow an almost complete view of this beautiful saber.
- Easy DIY illumination with cheap WIFI LED Strips and space for a Diffusor.
- Simple Slot-In parts.
- Filament saving Tolerance test available.
- Super Inspirational quote in Aurebesh.
- I am a Jedi, like my father before me ~Luke
Printing Recommendations:
- I would highly recommend using a Matte Filament, personally used Matte Black PLA from JAYO, that I got for 15€ from Amazon.
- OrcaSlicer Tree-supports (Style: Organic), especially for the Arm Top V2.stl and Hilt.stl.
- Infill density: 10-15%.
- Printing orientation as in the last image.*
- It's recommended to print the Lid tolerance test.stl first to ensure that the printers dimensional accuracy or the acrylic panels are properly sized before wasting precious filament.
Parts List:
- Acrylic Panels (3mm thick):
- 1x Clear 176mm x 330mm.
- 2x Clear 170mm x 330mm.
- 1x Mirror 176mm x 330mm.
- 1x Diffusor/White-Opaque 149mm x 149mm.
- Printed Parts:
- 1x Base V2P: no supports.
- 1x Imperial Grid-XXX: supports needed! *
- 149 Version could theoretically fit a 150x150mm diffusor I would recommend 149x149mm to be safe, 145 Version was made because I misjudged and ordered 145x145mm.
- 1x Lid: no supports.
- 1x Hilt: supports needed.
- 1x Arm: no supports.
- 1x Arm Top V2: supports needed.
- Illumination:
- 1-Meter LED-Strip (WIFI and USB recommended).
* Note: The Imperial Grid-XXX can be flipped to avoid supports, I've chosen to sacrifice a bit of filament to get a cleaner surface finish.
If it doesn't bother you or have a smooth bed surface go ahead and flip it :)
