This is my own design with inspiration taken from the many examples available online.
I printed in PETG base down and no supports are needed.
For extra strength, I increased the number of walls/perimeters and recommended gyroid or similar infill at around 25-30%. When you clamp a hose down it needs to be strong, including between layers.
The design uses 8 of 10x5mm rare earth magnets. You could use 16 of 10x3mm magnets instead. They should be placed in alternating poles around the perimeter so that there is no need to have a tool side or machine side, as well as ensuring they locate together correctly. The plugs should just be a push fit in with no need for using epoxy or glue.
One word of caution. To create a smooth base there is a 0.6mm solid layer on which the magnets sit. This still gives a strong magnetic connection but as I am still early in my use of these I am not sure how well this base will live up to regular use e.g. the magnets may start to pull through the base. So far no issues though.
Finally, my first model upload and my first real model I have designed as well. Grateful for any comments or feedback, but keep it constructive!
