Bolt on replacement blade guards for the Luba

What are the benefits of this design over the original stock part?

  • Stops grass pancakes getting stuck on top of the guard causing causing issues with lift motors retracting
  • Makes cleaning a lot easier
  • This Improves on the tolerance around the motor shaft which helps prevent debris getting tangles around the motor shaft by covering it up (As you can see in the comparison shot).
  • Has extra protection built in for the rubber boot to stop debris cutting it open

Parts needed:

  • 1x - Luba - Disc Seal and Arm - L
  • 1x - Luba - Disc Seal and Arm - R
  • 2x - Luba - Guard
  • 4x - M3 30mm bolts
  • 4x - M3 heat-set threaded inserts

Print recommendations:

  • Infill of the arms should be at least 35% for the strength needed to hold up Luba if it gets high centered so they do not deform and touch the blades
  • For the guard I recommend no less than 20%
  • Make sure you use 4 perimeter walls
  • Printing using a strong material such as ABS, ASA, PC, etc… is recommended. (Do not use PLA!)
  • Print the arms on the flat side with the curves on top - No supports needed
  • Print the guards on the on the side face (so the bolt holes are horizontal) - No supports needed
