I designed this heatbed cable cover, because the ones available were designed to complex and too far off the original design. I needed an angled cable cover to reduce the length of the printer, so I can fit it inside an IKEA Platsa cabinet. But it's also great to stop your printer from crashing the heatbed cable into the wall while standing on a desk.

The actual mountig of my design ist similar to the one supplyed by prusa. I increased the length of the cover by 6mm, so the cables have room inside to bend without modifications on the power terminals. I got rid of the second 3D printed part from underneath, because the space for screws was to tight. Instead the cables can be secured by a 2,5mm x 1mm zip tie trough a assigned channel in the part.

Print settings:

  • 0,2mm layer height
  • 100% infill
  • 3 perimeters

I printed it in PETG and it works perfectly well and serves it's purpose.

As always, happy printing!
