Let me introduce you the Ultimate Sovol SV06 : combinaison of already existing mods that I have modified (or not) and others that I have created especially.
This was possible only because of the open source spirit of the community (I will link later all the mod I used and I already thank every creators for sharing their models !!). And special thank to Sovol to use and respect the open source approch !! I would never done this redesign without original step files, etc….
The goals of this redesign was :
Upgrade stability :
- 10 mm igus rods on both X et Y axis
- 10 mm aluminium rods on Z axis
"Remove" maintenance of the printer :
- Igus bearings (the real good ones, not the green ones ; more about it later !!)
- Autolubricant bearings for Z axis
Add versatily (I don't know if it's the good word in English) with Klipper and Biqu microprobe to be able to use every bed including G10 Garolite, glasses, mirrors, etc...
Reduce footprint of the printer with the screen on the left side instead of the right side.
Upgrade airflow with “the nautilus fan” modified to fit my new carriage.
Add good integrations for the raspberry, camera and leds.
Upgrade the style of the printer (this is personnal but I think the SV06 looks incredibly nicer now !!)
Every step files for crucial parts are avalaibles because you have to be able to adjust tolerance according to your printer…
I will not explain every heats inserts, screws, nuts I used, it will be too long but it's totally standard M3/M4/M5 with classical screw length (6/8/10/12/16/20/25/30).

I put a link of a super repository to know multiple things on the SV06, I used it a lot when needed :
https://github.com/bassamanator/everything-sovol-sv06
X-AXIS :
I used 2x 10 mm Igus rods (355 mm length) :
https://www.igus.fr/product?artNr=AWMP-10
and 3 Igus RJUM-11-10 :
https://www.igus.fr/product?artNr=RJUM-11-10
Advice : Don't use the standard green ones, Igus says about it that they require a perfect compression to work perfectly wich is really hard to obtain with our 3D design carriage. They also say that they aren't planned to work on aluminium rods, only on their specials rods.
I have redesigned the tensioner too because I wasn't satisfied with the original design tolerance.
I have printed the parts with PETG 4 walls / 5 top / 5 bottom / 40% gyroid.
Y-AXIS :
I used 2x 10 mm Igus rods (340 mm length) :
https://www.igus.fr/product?artNr=AWMP-10
and 3 Igus RJUM-11-10 :
https://www.igus.fr/product?artNr=RJUM-11-10
I have redesigned the tensioner like on x axis, the tensioner holder and the belt fixation under the bed to have the belt perfectly aligned.
I have printed the parts with PETG 4 walls / 5 top / 5 bottom / 40% gyroid.
Recommanded : I installed 4 Voron feets for better stability :
https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/1005005600356489.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.126.144a5e5bxMBmss&gatewayAdapt=glo2fra
Installed with shorts M5 screw directly in 2020 nuts.
Z-AXIS (and top bar) :
I used 2x 10 mm chromium rods (400 mm length) :
https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/32332798910.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.161.144a5e5bxMBmss&gatewayAdapt=glo2fra
and 2 LM10LUU 10x19x55 autolubricant bearings :
https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/1005001585671763.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.166.144a5e5bxMBmss&gatewayAdapt=glo2fra
I have used the super work of flatpackrs for the top guide and motor brackets (more information) :
https://www.printables.com/fr/model/433884-sovol-sv06-x-twist-fix-top-bar-upgrade
I have installed the top bar with his explanations. It's a really cool upgrade for many reasons (esthetic and the ability to fix multiple things on the 2020 extrusion).
I remixed it to fit 10 mm rods.
Optionnal :

To perform a better Z-axis movements, I have remixed the Z-Wings of DIYLAB to fit the 10 mm rods (more informations for the installation) :
https://www.printables.com/fr/model/573704-sovol-sv06-z-wings/files
LIKE DIYLAB EXPLAINS : if you want to install Z-wings and upgrade the Z axis consistancy, you also need to replace stock Z led screws/motors of the SV06 before with an all in 1 solution lead screw/motor like on the Prusa.
I install these models :
https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B07YQQGQ4C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
You will have to revert the 2 central wires of the SV06 stock motor cables to get the new motors working correctly.
I have printed the parts with PETG 4 walls / 5 top / 5 bottom / 40% gyroid.
EXTRUDER MOUNT :
I used 3 Igus RJUM-11-10 :
https://www.igus.fr/product?artNr=RJUM-11-10

The carriage is in 1 piece for rigidity + 2 belts holder for each side.
I have printed the parts with ABS 4 walls / 5 top / 5 bottom / 40% gyroid for more rigidity.
No support needed.
I have modified the nautilus fan to fit my carriage and have integrated “strategic” supports to print it "easily".

Original nautilus can be find here :
https://www.printables.com/fr/model/542760-the-nautilus-sovol-sv06-fan-duct-5015-blower-fan-v
It's still hard to print so you have to slow down your printer and have a perfect bed adhesion. Brim and standard supports are needed.
I don't have step file for this design.
You have to print it like this :

I have also printed (without any modification) the Extruder Colling Fan 5015 from Leander Perez Blanco and it's a really good upgrade to prevent heatcreep :
https://www.printables.com/fr/model/472199-sovol-sv06-plus-extruder-colling-fan-5015
You can also find the Biqu Microprobe mount wich is really simple to print (STL and STEP).
If you want to install bl-touch/cr-touch, etc… you don't need to put a cable between the probe and the motherboard, you just have to use the port of the inductive probe on the extruder PCB !!!

For the Biqu Microprobe, the wiring is like this :

BED :
I have installed the strain relief from brage3dprint without modification :
https://www.printables.com/fr/model/452682-sovol-sv06-strain-relief
I have redesigned the “Sovol SV06 bed alliner” from Spb2005 to fit my SV06 ; original design :
https://www.printables.com/fr/model/378146-sovol-sv06-bed-alliner
I have printed the parts with ABS 4 walls / 5 top / 5 bottom / 40% gyroid for more rigidity but if I had to print these piece today, I will printed it in Nylon CF.
The build plate is a 235x235 PEI/PEA (the grey face) :
https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/1005005940405760.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.main.1.3e15MLXGMLXG15&algo_pvid=6e45693c-9ae1-425d-95c5-53ff5b13eded&algo_exp_id=6e45693c-9ae1-425d-95c5-53ff5b13eded-0&pdp_npi=4%40dis%21EUR%2118.26%2118.26%21%21%2119.31%2119.31%21%40211b801617164502134228761e759a%2112000034945141589%21sea%21FR%211806662964%21&curPageLogUid=EU8Z5fojy53B&utparam-url=scene%3Asearch%7Cquery_from%3A
SCREEN :
I have moved the screen to the right side to reduce the footprint of the printer (same side of the X-axis motor extension). Be careful when you will printed the top cover. The design is really thight, you will have to print it in 0.15mm with “thin walls” activated and arachne to prevent holes here :

The rest is simple to print. Small supports are needed for the base of the screen.
I have printed the parts with PETG 4 walls / 5 top / 5 bottom / 40% gyroid.
CAMERA :
The camera I choose is the Creality Nebula camera wich is working really well and with a very good night vision !!
I have printed the parts with PETG 4 walls / 5 top / 5 bottom / 40% gyroid.
LED :
I choosed this led strip :
https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B0B24HDRPB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Leds mod is one my favorite integration because it's seems to be natively install.
You put the led strip in the bracket like this :

You slide the bracket in the 2020 by the top and you pick up the cable at the bottom of the 2020. The + cable and the - cable can slide each side of the big screw in the 2020 :

I printed stong corner to hide the end of the led strip and to make a strong structure :
https://www.printables.com/fr/model/43583-strong-corner-brackets-2020
Result :

The led bracket is 367mm length so may be you need to cut it in 2 parts in your slicers according to your printer !!
POWER SUPPLY : for raspberry Pi 3 and leds
I choosed the MeanWell RS-25-5 5v/25w/5a to power the raspberry and leds :
https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B00MWQDAMU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The difficulty was to integrate this properly with one power cable.
I don't have beautiful schematics to show what I have done but I have this :![]()
I hope this is comprehensible…
I putted wagos after power button of the stock power supply to get 220 for the Meanwell power supply and after I split the 5v form Meanwell power supply to the leds strips and the Raspberry.
You have the step and stl for power supply enclosure to modify the design in case the holes on the top of the stock power supply don't match with mine.
Otionnal :
I have also designed a wago splitter for the led strip 1 and led strip 2 if you want.
MeanWell power supply integration :

Led splitter :

Raspberry integration with the backpack here :
https://www.printables.com/fr/model/431027-sovol-sv06-backpack

SPOOL HOLDER :
I remix this model from Peter Henriksen to correct the orientation of the spool for my usage :
https://www.printables.com/fr/model/690184-filamentspool-holder-for-sovol-sv06
I don't have step files for this one.
I add the filament guide of rogerquin :
https://www.printables.com/fr/model/414681-hd-filament-guide-for-sovol-sv06-3d-printer
AESTHETIC :
I printed the honeycomb style front and back wich is very very nice for the final style !! pimpyourprinter did a super job on this !!
https://www.printables.com/fr/model/413070-sovol-sv06-honeycomb-style-front-and-back-grill
I changed every knobs with Mintor94 designs :
https://www.printables.com/fr/model/480027-sovol-sv06-knobs
KLIPPER :
I will not explain every steps to put klipper on the SV06, you can find this in the bassamanator github repository. My klipper config is based on his work. I share you my printer.cfg with modifications for new Z motors and Biqu Microprobe.
I hope I didn't forget to mention someone, let me know if it's the case…
Again Thanks to Sovol to sell 3d printers with open source approch. This is top for open source community of modders !!! Good to see that it's still like this on the SV08 !!!
I know it's not very detailled concerning length screws, nuts/heat inserts/2020 nuts size, etc… but it would be too long to add every informations for every mods. It was very long to create this guide. It's easy to find good size for everything, it use only standard size…
Don't hesitate to correct my poor english…
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
