Last year, I broke the distal phalangeal joint (final joint) of my right ring finger and required surgery. The hospital's splints were too small, so I designed my own.
This custom splint includes a slight bend for natural joint positioning and an opening beneath for normal bending of the proximal interphalangeal joint. It also keeps the fingernail exposed for airflow.
Due to the design, this model requires printing with supports. I recommend using organic supports and printing with the base on the build plate. A brim is needed for stability, as the walls are thin and the model has minimal contact with the build plate. The model is 100% wall, with no infill.
The 3mf file includes the correct positioning and painted on supports. Just select organic supports, and you're done.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
