This model originated from when I got tired of tilting my printer forward to change the spool. This design is full parametric allow customization for any use of filament or spool as well. It also allows you to adjust to tolerances for you machines capabilities changing all the spots that need to be change to the proper value. This design also supports machines with panels
The parametric settings do as follows(in order from cad):
SpoolHolderDiameter-Changes the diameter of the spool holder(the middle part)
SpoolHolderWallThickness- Changes the thickness of the inner walls of the spool holder to make it a tube
SpoolHolderFlangeWtith-Changes the flange diameter of the spool holder that holds the holder to the base
FlangeFillet-Changes the fillet sizes of the spool holder
BaseThickness-Changes the thickness of the base that holds the spool. This will be mostly solid
BaseFillet-Changes the fillet sizes on the base
FlangeHolderWallThickness-Changes the amount of material around the flange on the base. Increases strength
FlangeThickness-Changes the thickness of the flange on the spool holder. The length of the part that the spool sits on does not change
Tolorance-Changes the tolerance of the spots that need extra room. Examples, distance between part and heads of the screws, extra gap for the screw threads
ScrewHeadHight-Changes the amount of room that the screw heads have to get under where the end of the spool holder slides
ScrewHeadDiameter-Changes the diameter of the hole where the screw head goes. Similar to ScrewHeadHight
ScrewThreadSize-Changes the size of the hole where the screw thread goes through
NumberOfScrews-Changes the amount of screw holes on the base to accommodate more or less screws and nuts
ExtraWallAfterScrew-Changes the amount of gap between the edge of the last screw and the edge of the part
SpoolHolderLength-Changes the length of the section on the spool holder that holds a spool
For panels (not shown in order as in cad but they are all at the bottom of the parameters) (these many not work the best):
PanelThicknessR/L-Changes the size of the gap for a panel 0 for no panel
PanelThicknessR-Use when mounting to the right side of you machine(when looking derectly at where you will mount it)
PanelThicknessL-Use when mounting to the side of you machine(when looking derectly at where you will mount it)
PanelExtrusionIntrusion-Changes where the panel cutoff is by a value telling it how far the panel is on top of the extrusion. Example, 2020 extrusion and the panel is covering 7mm of the extrusion, the value would be 7
ExtrusionSize-Changes the size off the “extrusion” so PanelExtrusionIntrusion works properly. Example, for a 2020 it would be 20 and for a 1515 it would be 15
If you find any errors I would like to hear from you so I can fix them. Enjoy the model!
