MacMini's can be useful development/server hardware, if it were not for just how hard they are to deal with in racks. This clip solves some of that; at least preventing it from falling over.
This clip is designed to support the MacMini so it doesnt fall over sideways when it's positioned vertically.
The ‘shelf’ it's designed to clip onto is made of thin metal and has a 10x10mm ‘lip’ along the front.
Another version (untested) is provided which should work well on typical 18mm furniture-shelves.
The FreeCad file comes with a spreadsheet where you can alter the dimensions of the ‘bracket'.
In particular, ‘plank_thickness’ and ‘clip_flat_depth’ are important.
For the 10x10mm lip, the flat edge is only 8mm long before there's the ‘ridge’ that provides clamping pressure.
For the 18mm shelf, I've opted to make the total space 20mm and provide 15mm of flatness before the ridge. It may be that a little more clamping-pressure is needed.
