This little adapter allows you to support a PET-bottle on top of your Aeropress to do Ice Drip style cold brew extractions. The 3D model looks weird in the online render, since I added a cylindrical support blocker, once you load it into the slicer it should be looking right.
My setup consists in one 0,5 L PET-bottle, with the bottom cut-open and the cap removed, on top of my coffee grounds-filled Aeropress and a 57 mm filter paper on top. The bottle then gets filled with ice cubes, which are allowed to thaw and subsequently drip ice-cold water onto the filter paper (helps distribute the water evenly). Drops travel through the coffee grounds one by one and thus yield higher concentrated cold brew than Immersion style cold brew.
Bonus functionality: you can use the adapter to cut your 57 mm top filter paper to size. Simply place the filter paper on a cutting board and the adapter on top. Now trace the outline of the adapter with an exacto or cutter knife and you'll end up with a perfectly fitting “drop distributor filter paper” ;)
I added a hidden watermark inside the top of the drip adapter. You can easily remove it by adding a solid volume in Prusa Slicer. You could use for example a cylinder with a diameter of 14 mm and a height of 2 mm. Positioning is 27 mm and 12 mm relative to the center of the drip adapter.
The author remixed this model.
I used steffanders' PET bottle model to spare me the work of designing one on my own. Thanks for the nice model!
