Before starting a print obtain some 10x2mm magnets.  You’ll need two for each position plus two for the slider.

I printed with a 0.25mm Z-step and 20% fill.  The fidgets were designed to not need support and the pockets are recessed to avoid the slider making surface contact of the magnets.  A pair of magnets are used for the slider and each fidget position to increase the haptic feedback.

Installing the Magnets

The magnet pairs are glued into the pockets using CA glue (superglue).  It’s best to let the glue polymerize after filling each position. The last thing you want is for a stack of magnets to snap together with a coating of superglue.  If that happens quickly use your jackknife to cut them apart before the glue sets.

The goal is to have all magnets with the same pole up.  After gluing two magnets into the first position take two more magnets and let them attach to the bottom of the fidget under the first magnets.  This determines the pole orientation for the next set. When the glue has set for the first magnets put CA glue into the next pocket and slide the magnets off the bottom and place them into the next pocket without changing their orientation. Repeat the operation for all pockets then do the same for the slider.
