A large pinning tray for 7-pin locks with five sections for grub screws, springs, driver pins, key pins, and an extra one for finger pins or whatever else you might want to keep separate. Plug holders and spiral followers in 10mm, 12mm, 12.6mm, 13mm, and 14mm. Locks that use 12mm aren't common, so you can skip printing those until you really need them. The holders fit snugly into the pinning tray. The spirals on the followers make it easy to remove gins slowly for showing orientation on camera and to get pins back in if you have trouble dealing with the springs. The spiral end of the followers are based on a design by crispix with permission, but the files are from scratch.
The pin storage cabinet hold six mini pin trays, two of each of the three different tabbed trays. I like to print each set in a different color to make it easier to keep track. These are handy for locks you may be progressive pinning or are doing work on and don't want the pins taking up room on your main tray. Two of the trays will fit onto the main tray at the same time.
How I use the followers:
2024/05/30 — Updated storage cabinet and trays with slightly deeper trays. I found that the trays could hang up if containing grub screws and they rolled upright in the groove and jammed against the roof.
2024/06/05 — v2 followers have a V rather than a flat end, and both ends have a locating hole for a 3mm bearing or key pin. Add a spring and a 3.5mm or #6 grub screw. The screw should at the surface, not below, so that a driver pin doesn't fall in and jam. Clean the holes from the correct direction as shown in the photo to avoid trimming the thin lip retaining the pin/bearing. If using a drill bit, be careful once you get close to the end. They tend to bite and suddenly you've broken through.
2024-06-08 — v2.1 followers have a small escape groove so that you can extract the follower if the grub screw is recessed and a driver pin gets stuck in the resulting gap. Don't recess the grub screw below this groove (about 1mm).
