Update 5/3/17 : I added a base that you can place this spinner on. It lets this become more of a desk toy than a handheld toy. Since spinning the pendulum causes a lot of side-to-side momentum, I had to use weights in the bottom of the base. The weights I used were 1/2 oz. wheel weights from harbor freight. I fit 1 lb. worth of those weights in the base and with some rubber feet on the bottom, it hardly moves when spinning it.
This is a double pendulum fidget toy I designed. I saw plenty of desktop sized double pendulums online and, while I could have made one that size, I wanted to make one that I could carry around with me. Recently with fidget spinners becoming popular, I found myself having a box full of 608 bearings. With those I made a fun toy that I find myself going too more often than my fidget spinner now.
Here is a short clip showing how this spinner works.
