Originally designed to cover small magnets in a template I created, these are broken out here as neat little refrigerator/whiteboard/toolbox magnets. They represent a M8 bolt head with a lock washer and washer. The cavity in the bottom is designed for a 12mm x 3mm round, neodymium magnet (available for less than $1 each at Amazon). I recommend pre-tapping the center hole for a flathead M3 x 5mm screw.
Because they require four filament changes to get the proper effect, it is a good idea to print these in multiples, probably with rafts.
To achieve the 3-component effect....
It takes four filament changes to achieve the effect of bolt head, lock washer, and washer:
(Assuming .2mm layer thickness….)
1) start with silver, change to black after layer 9
2) Change back to silver after layer 10
3) Change again to black after layer 20
4) Change back to silver after layer 21 to finish the print.
