A kit card for SpaceX Starship (1:500 scale)! Elon Musk's SpaceX ship that will take us to Mars!

This kit card is the Starship, pair it with my Super Heavy Kit Card for the complete set.

Print as a kit card, or print without the kit card frame if you want to assemble it without breaking the parts off. This is my second kit card, inspired by the style of Nakozen. My goal was to be as accurate as possible while also keeping things as simple as possible. I think it's very fun to make! I hope you enjoy making it as much as I enjoyed developing it!

This model was designed for a 0.2mm layer height, and this is what you should use to print. Other layer heights could affect the way pieces fit together. No supports needed.

Having trouble getting the tolerances just right? Set Outer Walls to print first.

I'd love to see you share your makes!

Assembly Instructions

  1. There are two halves of the hull. Bend each half (to create the vertical cylinder), and insert the tabs into the bottom disc with the engines. Tolerances are intentionally a little tight here, but the parts should latch securely with a little pressure if the tabs are lined up well. You can't do the tabs incorrectly, they only fit one way.
  2. Bend the nose pieces at the other end of the hull cylinder toward the center. Insert all sides into the nose cone at once. Just shove them all in there and they'll pop into place.
  3. Finally, insert the fins. This is self-explanatory, just push them into place. Be gentle with pressure here so you don't bend the clips.

Dual Color Printing

This model will look great in a single color (black, silver, or otherwise). But if you want a dual-tone print that looks like the Starship heat shields, like in some of my pictures:

  • Separate the STL in your slicer so you can print some parts separately. Use the no-frame version.
  • Print the nose cone, larger hull, and engines in black.
  • Print the smaller hull in silver.
  • Use a color change at 0.8mm on the fins to print half-black and half-silver. (Or just print the fins all black or all silver if you can't do color changes.)
