I have a snapper model 280812BE (80422) - Snapper 28" Rear-Engine Riding Mower, 8hp

I designed this as a drop in replacement part for:

Snapper 7022344
CABLE, Brake
(Superseded to 7022344YP)

The issue is they wanted to charge me ~$40.00 w/ shipping for an entire assembly and I just needed the plastic part on the very end… all it really does is keep the spring in place.

Issue number one.
it is an assembly… therefore you cannot take it apart.
- no problem the original part is broken can't break it more. worst case scenario your back to spending money.

– step one – cut the old plastic part off.  (check!)
[Dremel comes in very handy for this part]
– step two – replace it with the new printed part. (check!)
– step three – put the retainer clip back on and run a zip tie around it. (check!)
– step four – fixed! (better than new!)

okay so this is still experimental, but I have cut my lawn for a whole season and it is still holding up! :D

I have designed it for both FDM and Resin printing.
I have only tested the FDM part - printed in ASA
3 perimeters
Brim (16mm)
40% Cubic infill
organic supports YES
(I have the resin part printed and sitting on the shelf for “just in case” but so far so good. – I'll post more photos when I have them.)

Orientation is important as we do not want the layer lines to de-laminate, so print it on its flat side.
