I set out to create a blower for the Hemera XS that uses the inexpensive WINSINN 4010 blower fans I already have. There are several other models that use these fans, but I had difficulties with all of them.

This model:

  • Keeps the fan far enough away from the Hemera XS motor to avoid magnetic interference with the not-super-powerful WINSINN fan
  • Has great down-angled airflow thanks to large interior cooling ducts
  • Is easy to print, with built-in internal supports and optional external supports
  • Has an optional integrated sensor holder for a 12mm diameter inductive sensor

This is mounted to the Hemera XS with 3 M3*8 screws and nuts. Be careful not to use a longer screw without adjusting the model though, because this could damage the Hemera XS motor housing.

If you ever print with very high temperatures (for instance, with ABS) then print this with ABS, PETG, or some other material that can tolerate higher temperature. The sensor holder on a Silk PLA version started drooping during an ABS print with a 110C bed and 240C nozzle, but it worked well for PLA prints.

Some of the photos are of earlier versions.
